Introduction to the development history of high-voltage vacuum circuit breakers

High-voltage vacuum circuit breakers began in the last century, that is, at the end of the 19th century. Its idea was first proposed by an American, and because it provided the United States with a concept and an idea, it was valued by inventors at the time. Twenty years later, the Swedish company Phogat invented a conceptual "vacuum switch" with this planning concept. Six years later, the company announced to the public that this product could indeed be vacuum broken. However, even if there is a breaking function, this product can not be produced under the conditions at that time, because the breaking possibility measured at the time is relatively small, and limited to the constraints of the vacuum technical conditions and the selection of raw materials at that time, so the vacuum circuit breaker is still only a concept at the time, and it cannot be really put into production for use. Due to the influence of World War I and World War II, the development and discussion of vacuum circuit breaker had to buffer it, finally compared to the end of the World War, in the 50s of the 20th century, the United States began a batch of switches that can block the function of the capacitor bank, although its function of breaking current is only 4000A, but it is not easy to be at the level of science and technology at that time. Later, due to the smelting of vacuum materials and the research on the structure of vacuum switch contacts, after 10 years of unremitting efforts, scientists finally developed a vacuum circuit breaker that can produce 15 thousand volt high voltage and 12.5 thousand amperes. Less than 5 years later, they have successfully developed a 15 kV, 26 kA and 31.5 kA vacuum circuit breaker. Later, the vacuum circuit breaker officially entered the high platform of the high-voltage and large-capacity power system, and it is precisely because of this clever function and its circuit breaking function that the high-voltage vacuum circuit breaker really made a name for itself in the world. By the eighties of the last century, the function of the vacuum circuit breaker has now been upgraded to 100 kiloamperes.

The development and production of high-voltage vacuum circuit breakers in China began in 1958. It wasn't until 1960 that the product was finally developed. Although it is a batch of goods, it actually has a short-circuit function of 15 thousand volts and a breaking capacity of 600 amperes. At that time, China's heavy industry was still in its infancy, and according to China's national conditions at that time, it was really appropriate to make such a functional commodity. Soon after, the Chinese people also relied on their own to develop a 10 thousand volts, segmented capacity of 1.5 thousand amperes of three-phase vacuum circuit breaker, such achievements made the countries at that time dumbfounded. After 1969, China's Huaguang Electron Tube Factory and Xi'an High Voltage Electrical Appliance Research Institute made a 10 thousand volt and 2 thousand ampere single-phase fast vacuum switch. Since then, China has been able to independently develop and independently produce various standard vacuum switches.

High-voltage vacuum circuit breakers are classified by experts into many grades, and generally speaking, low-voltage types are often used as explosion-proof electrical applications.
